1 John 4:1-6
Do not believe everyone who claims to speak God's truth! We see different kinds of spirituality in today's world. So how do we know who is really tell if the message is truly coming from God? The first way is to examine what they say and believe about Jesus Christ. Do they agree with the Bible that Jesus came as God in the flesh, that He was fully man as well as fully God? If they deny the biblical truth about Jesus, they are not from God and they actually have the spirit of Antichrist--and that spirit is already here.
These may be scary words when we talk the spirit of Antichrist, but we should not be afraid. We belong to God, and the Holy Spirit who lives within us is far greater than any spirit who lives in the world. Those who do not belong to God do not understand us. But because we belong to God, we have a special bond of understanding between us. We speak the same language!
Psalm 21
King David gives God the glory and praise after a victory in battle. "How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord! He shouts with joy because you give him victory."
We are quick to pray and ask God for many things. Are we as quick to praise and thank Him when He answers? I'm ashamed to say that most of the time, I am not. Let's let this psalm remind us today to always give God the honor, praise, and thanksgiving that He deserves.
The last few verses of the psalm remind us that some day God will judge His enemies. We should not fret when we it seems that evil triumphs in this world. They may plot against the Lord and against His children, but ultimately, they will not succeed.
