Psalm 70

Have you ever prayed to the Lord, "Come quickly, please hurry, or do not delay"? This is exactly what David prayed in Psalm 70. We may feel panic, but God never does. His timing is perfect! Like David, we are poor and needy, we feel helpless, and we cry out to God. His delays are not evidence that He is not listening or that He doesn't care. He will answer in His perfect time and with His perfect wisdom, and not only that--He will give us grace to wait on Him.

Luke 8:1-3
It is interesting that along with His disciples, Jesus took several women with him for His ministry. Jesus did not consider women unimportant or unfit for serving Him. Any religion that belittles women is not receiving its instructions from Jesus!

vv. 4-15 records Jesus' parable of the farmer scattering seed. The meaning is pretty obvious since Jesus Himself told the disciples what it means in vv. 11-15. Our job is to examine our hearts to make sure that we are allowing God's Word to fall on fertile ground. We should guard our hearts from becoming stony or crowded with the cares of this world.
