Psalm 66

Psalm 66
Here is a call to praise as we look forward to the Lord's Day tomorrow. It's so important to go to church prepared to worship! This psalm should help us do just that.

• Praise the Lord! vv. 1-4

"Shout with joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious! Say to God, 'How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you. All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing praise to your name.'"

• Remember what He has done. vv. 5-12

"Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man's behalf!" The psalm goes on to remember what God has done for Israel.

• Worship the Lord! vv 13-15

It's important to remember and keep the promises we've made to the Lord.

• Tell others about the Lord and what He has done for us! vv. 16-17

"Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me." We should always be ready to encourage one another with our testimony as well as tell unbelievers about our Lord.

• Confess our sin. v. 18-19

"If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer."

For our meditation: "Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!" v. 20
