Today we come to the shortest chapter in the Bible. It may be short, but it's mighty in truth!
"Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord." Psalm 117
The psalmist praises the Lord. Let's think about what it means to "praise the Lord."
- Who should praise the Lord?
- All nations--and this obviously includes us! Any time we are tempted to complain or worry or give in to discouragement, may we remember to praise the Lord!
- Why should we praise the Lord?
- Great is His love toward us! No one but God can love us perfectly and unconditionally. Surely this is worthy of our praise!
- His faithfulness endures forever! Just as His love is perfect and unending so is His faithfulness toward us. We never need to doubt that He is on our side! And He will never leave us!
