Psalm 5

Psalm 5 
This psalm has sometimes been called the morning prayer because morning is mentioned twice.
Actually, I think it's appropriate for morning AND evening!

Here are a few thoughts from this psalm which was written by David.

• He asks God to hear him. v. 1
• He praises God to whom he prays. v. 2
• He promises to pray in the mornings. v. 3 Of course, we can and should pray at any time of the day or night. It's a wise believer who begins his or her day with the Lord, asking for His wisdom, help, and guidance.
• He tells God about his enemies. vv. 4-6; 9-10
• He promises to worship God. v. 7
• He asks for God's leadership. v. 8
• He ends by expressing faith and thanksgiving. vv. 11-12 

"But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your name 
Be joyful in You.
For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield."
