We saw Sodom's extreme wickedness and utter disrespect for God at the beginning of this chapter. The angels whom Lot had protected (or tried to) now must protect Lot and his family. They urged him very strongly to get himself and his family out of there NOW before God's judgment fell. Lot's testimony for the Lord was so weak that most of his relatives including his sons-in-law did not take him seriously. Incredibly Lot still hesitated and finally negotiated to go to a closer city, Zoar, rather than to the mountains as the angels had at first told him. And so finally, Lot, his wife, and two daughters who still lived at home fled the city. God's supernatural judgment of fire and brimstone fell to utterly destroy Sodom, Gomorrah, and the surrounding areas. And even then, Lot's wife disobeyed the command, looked back, and was turned to a pillar of salt. This is an incredible story, but we have no reason to doubt that it's literal. This incident is mentioned in other scriptures including the New Testament as a warning and an example. See Romans 9:29 and 2 Peter 2:5-7.
Psalm 19
This psalm tells us the two major ways God reveals Himself. Can you determine what they are?
The first is found in vv. 1-6 and the other in vv. 7-11.
Here is the scripture. Tomorrow I will tell you what I think these two ways are!
The heavens declare the glory of God;
