"I waited patiently for the Lord;" v. 1 Oh my! This is a common theme, and how we hate to wait! But it was worth it for David, and it's worth it for us! God heard David's prayer, and He changed everything. God took him from a muddy pit to a solid rock; He gave him a new song of praise to God! This victory is a testimony to many who will see and put their trust in the Lord. v. 3
"Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust,..." v. 4 "Blessed" in the Bible means "happy." Just think how desperately the world searches for peace and happiness. The answer to that search is right here--happy is the man who makes the Lord his trust. And we know that God is worthy of our trust. "Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare." v. 5
God does not want or need our sacrifices and offerings alone. v. 7 What He wants is our commitment to Him. "I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart." v. 8
When God blesses us, we should not keep this to ourselves. vv. 9-10 Sharing is an opportunity to witness to others. "I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly."
