What does Revelation reveal about Jesus?

We have looked at 6 of the 7 churches in Revelation. The last one, Laodicea, receives the harshest rebuke of all. I think we'll wait until next week to take a closer look at Laodicea. On this Easter week-end, I think I will look back at the ways in which Jesus identified Himself to each of the churches. Remember that this is the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

• Him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. 2:1
• Him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again. 2:8
• Him who has the sharp, double-edged sword. 2:12
• The Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze." 2:18
• Him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. 3:1
• Him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 3:7
• The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. 3:14

In each case, Christ tells them He knows their circumstances and their deeds. Remember that He is the same today! As we celebrate His resurrection, we are thankful for His wonderful plan for our redemption! "...that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time,..."
