Matthew 12:38-45
Some of the Pharisees asked for a miraculous sign that Jesus was truly the Messiah. The fact is that Jesus had already performed many miracles in their presence, and they had not believed! Jesus knew their hearts that if they had not believed the signs already given them, including evidence from the Old Testament, they surely would not believe another miracle. v. 38ff

The wicked city of Ninevah and the pagan Queen of Sheba believed the evidence presented them, and so there was no excuse for the unbelief of the Jewish leaders. After all the very Son of God was in their presence! vv. 39-42

vv. 43-45 warn us to be careful of an empty life. If we don't fill our lives with godly things, including God's Word, we leave the door open for Satan to enter with his mischief. Let's not give him that opportunity.

Psalm 104:10-35
We have just looked at Matthew 12 in which the Pharisees wanted a sign. People today say the same thing. They may say that they see no evidence that God even exists. When we look at Psalm 104:10 and following, we see numerous evidences of God as creator. He provides fresh water for the wild animals and birds. "He makes grass grow for the cattle and plants for man to cultivate--bringing forth food from the earth:..." v. 14

"How many are your works, O Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number--living things both large and small." v. 24-25 "These all look to you to give them their food at the proper time. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things." vv. 27-28

Is this not evidence of a Master Plan? Surely God Himself has given abundant signs that He is at work, and He is in control!

For our meditation: "I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord." Psalm 104:33-34
