Psalm 119:121-144

Psalm 119:121-144
As I read through these verses today, I am struck by the fact that we can say anything to God. It's OK to tell God what's bothering us, worrying us, troubling us as well as thanking Him for all the blessings. It's OK to ask for what we want and need. The more we stay in His Word, the more our desires will line up with His. It's fine to ask for material needs, but you will notice in this passage, the psalmist did not.  Below are some of the things he asked for in these verses:

• He asked God not to leave him at the mercy of his enemies. 121
• He asked for a blessing. 122
• He asked for God to deal with him in unfailing love. 124
• He asked God to teach him. 124
• He asked for discernment. How we need this! 125
• He asked for mercy. 132
• He asked for guidance. 133

As we go back through the passage, we can see the psalmist expressing his faith and love for God. This also is a good example for us. Here are some of those expressions:

• "Truly I love  your commands more than gold, even the finest. gold." 127
• "Each of your commandments is right." 128
• "Your laws are wonderful." 129
• "The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand." 130
• "O Lord, your are righteous, and your regulations are fair." 137
• "Your laws are perfect and completely trustworthy." 138
• "Your promises have been thoroughly tested." 140
• "Your justice is eternal, and your instructions are perfectly true." 142
• "Your laws are always right."  144
