Think carefully about Jesus! v. 1 In Hebrews 2:9, we are told to see Jesus. Here in Chapter 3, we are told to consider Him or think carefully about Him. Meditate on what the Bible tells us about our Savior.
- He is God's messenger and High Priest. v. 1
- He was faithful to God, who appointed Him. v. 2
- He is far greater than Moses. Remember that to the Jewish people Moses was a great hero, but Jesus is worthy of far greater honor. v. 3
- He lives within us! v. 6 Our courage and faith are evidences of our relationship with Him.
Psalm 119:89-96
God's eternal word stands firm in heaven. These first few words give us a lot to think about. God's Word is eternal. And what does "eternal" mean? Indeed, it means God's Word is everlasting; it will last forever! It is settled in heaven; it cannot change or be destroyed! v. 89
God's faithfulness extends to every generation. It endures just as the earth God created endures. v. 90
The same Word that created the world keeps it going. v. 91
God's Word gives us comfort in trouble. v. 92-95 Let's not neglect it. Sometimes when difficult times come, it's hard to focus on God's Word, but those times are exactly the ones when we need God's Word the most.
"Even perfection has its limits, but your commands have no limit." They are the most precious and most perfect guide we have!
Thank God for His Word. It is our strength.
