Psalm 100
A Psalm of Thanksgiving

The Doxology is said to be based on this Psalm.
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Since the headnote calls this a "Psalm of Thanksgiving," we will look at ways we can show thanks to God.
1. Worship with singing and gladness.  I think worship also involves serving which we should also do with joy! vv. 1-2
2. Submit to Him. "The Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture." The sheep are not in charge. The wisest and safest plan for us as sheep is to follow the Shepherd. v. 3
3. "Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise." This probably refers to Old Testament worship, but I think it's acceptable to apply this to the church. Corporate worship should not be a neglected part of our thanksgiving and praise. v. 4
4. Remember that "the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation." The same Lord that directed the psalmist to pen these beautiful words is our Savior and Lord in the 21st Century. v. 5
