Psalm 103; Luke 20:1-19

Psalm 103
This is a beautiful psalm of praise and surely worthy of our meditation. David praises the Lord and asks for nothing! He praises God with his whole heart and mentions some of the good things God has done.
1. He forgives sin and heals diseases. Actually forgiveness is a type of healing.
2. He has redeemed us from eternal death.
3. He crowns us with love and tender mercy.
4. He renews our youth. Our bodies do grow older and weaker, but we have eternal youth to look forward to!
5. He offers righteousness and justice when we are treated unfairly.
6. He is slow to anger and full of love.
7. He doesn't always punish us for our sins, and He doesn't deal harshly with us as we deserve.
8. His love is unlimited--as great as the height of the heavens above the earth!
9. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. I would say that is pretty much as far as we can even imagine!
10. He is tender and compassionate like a father is to his children.
11. He knows that we are weak.
12. Our days on this earth are fleeting, and soon we are gone as though we had never been here.
13. But God's love remains forever, and He will bless our children and children's children for our sake. What a promise!

Luke 20:1-19
The religious leaders were questioning Jesus' authority. He reminded them that they had not believed John the Baptist and they didn't believe Him either so He wasn't going to play their games. Then he went on to tell them a story about what happens to people who mistreat and reject the vineyard owner's son--the point is that God will judge those who mistreat and reject His Son. v. 19 tell us that they got the point! They wanted to kill Jesus, but they feared the people.
